Structure:
The astronomy division comprises a dynamic assembly of scientists, postdoctoral researchers, and doctoral candidates. The division focuses on optical and near-infrared studies of celestial sources; however, to get a comprehensive knowledge of celestial events in astrophysical contexts, the researchers also employ data from electromagnetic radiation, gravitational waves, neutrinos, and cosmic rays. Analytical investigations and numerical simulations of jets and accretion disks related to black holes are also conducted. The department also possesses a solar astronomy group.Research groups at ARIES
